Training

WHY RUN WHEN YOU WERE BORN TO FLY?

There is no better accomplishment then aquiring an ability that was never
meant to be obtained. Training to fly a helicopter and being able to call yourself
a licensed pilot is an unbelievable experience. We come equipped with various
highly trained and qualified certified flight instructors to train and help you obtain
the goal of a lifetime.

 

PRIVATE PILOT COURSE

To qualify to become a licensed private helicopter pilot,
you must meet the following qualifications:

BULLET Training can start at any age
BULLET Must be 16 years of age to solo
BULLET Must be 17 years of age to obtain license
BULLET Hold at least a third-class medical certificate
BULLET Pass the FAA (knowledge) written test
BULLET Pass the oral and flight (practical) test, by the FAA or an approved Designated Pilot Examiner


Private Pilot Training consists of a total of
40 training hours consisting of the following:

BULLET Ground Instruction Required (Average 10 hours)
BULLET 20 Dual Training hours with an instructor
BULLET 10 Solo Training hours without an instructor
BULLET Minimum of 40 hours (Average of 50 hours)

*HOURS MAY VARY DEPENDING ON THE STUDENT

This training includes a 3-hour cross country trip and 3 hours of night flight time.
Also included is 1 cross country flight totaling over 50 nautical miles along with
10 take-offs and 10 landings in the traffic pattern to a full stop at an airport. Within
60 days prior to your practical test, you will also receive 3 hours of flight training.

Along with 10 hours of solo flight, training must include: (1) 3-hour cross country, which
must consist of 1 solo cross country of at least 100 nautical miles total distance, a
minimum of landing at three points. One segment at least 25 nautical miles in a
straight-line distance between starting and landing points. Another
requirement is 3 take offs and landings in a traffic pattern to a
full stop at an airport with an operating control tower.

COMMERCIAL PILOT COURSE

To qualify to become a licensed commerical pilot,
you must meet the following qualifications:

BULLET Must be 18 years of age or older
BULLET Hold at least a private pilot certificate
BULLET Hold at least a second-class medical certificate
BULLET Pass the FAA (knowledge) written test
BULLET Fulfill at least the minimum flight and ground requirements to prep for the check ride
BULLET Pass the oral and flight (practical) test, by the FAA or an approved Designated Pilot Examiner

Commerical Pilot Training consists of 150 total training hours,
consisting of the following:

BULLET 150 hours of total flight time
BULLET 100 hours in a powered aircraft, 50 hours must be in a helicopter
BULLET 100 hours of pilot in command (PIC) flight time, including at least: 35 hours in helicopters and 10 hours in cross country flight in a helicopter
BULLET 5 hours of instrument training on the aircraft, 20 hours of Dual Instruction, including 2 hours of day VFR cross country in a helicopter
BULLET 2 hours VFR cross country in a helicopter
BULLET 10 hours of Solo Flight in a helicopter, which includes at least 1 cross country flight
BULLET 5 hours in night VFR conditions
BULLET 3 hours in a helicopter in preparation for the practical for the practical test which must take place within a 60-day period preceding the test date

ship which is at the parking entrance to the field!
